£20 challenge for Care Leavers staff

Wirral Council staff have taken part in a ‘£20 Challenge’ to raise awareness of the financial pressures that some care leavers face.Members of the local authority’s Inclusion team, which works with looked after children and care leavers, have been restricting themselves to spending just £20 on food, toiletries and any leisure activities for a week.The challenge is designed to reflect the amount of money a large number of care leavers have left to spend each week, once they have paid their basic bills.Posted on 2 November 2015 - 10:17am
