Flood alleviation measures set to be discussed

Wirral Council is working with the Environment Agency on a series of plans to safeguard life and property along West Kirby’s South Parade.The new plans are designed to prevent the kind of damage that happened in December 2013 when a massive tidal surge hit the Wirral coastline.The proposals explored range from building a new, permanent defence along the Marine Lake at South Parade to a temporary defence which could be implemented during expected periods of severe weather.Posted on 8 October 2015 - 4:25pm
