The borough goes green to support parks

Post by Wirral Council News » Tue Jun 30, 2020 10:34 pm

Wallasey Town Hall and Hamilton Square Gardens will light up green on Tuesday 30 June 2020 in support of an international campaign to recognise the importance of parks.

‘Going Green for Parks’ is part of a scheme from World Urban Parks, an organisation for open space and recreation, to recognise the value of parks and to thank all park professionals for their role during COVID-19.

Wirral has a unique landscape of coast and countryside with a variety of green open spaces that have played a key role in helping local people stay healthy and active, both physically and mentally, over the last few challenging months.

Wirral Council is joining World Urban Parks and other regions across the world to light up civic and iconic spaces in green to say thanks.
