Post by Wirral Council News » Mon Nov 25, 2019 4:16 pm

Following the success of the Wirral Food & Drink Festival, celebrity chef Paul Askew will host a 'Cooking into Christmas' event this weekend, in the heart of Birkenhead Market.

The event will bring together an abundance of seasonal produce and celebrate shopping local and supporting local traders.

Paul Askew will deliver three live chef demos on the day, demonstrating how you can make festive feasts on a budget to impress your family this Christmas. He will be joined by Adopt a School - an organisation which sends chefs and hospitality professionals into schools to teach children about food, healthy eating and the importance of eating together - who will provide demonstrations.

Paul’s live 'Cooking into Christmas' demo times last 45 minutes each, and are as follows:

For families, the Children's Cooking Zone will feature three sessions as part of the event (24 places available at each):

Session one:

11.30am – 12.15pm
Leftover Xmas Turkey & Ham Macaroni Cheese

Session two:

1.30pm – 2.15pm
Vegetable Biryani

Session three:

3.30pm – 4.15pm
Xmas Pudding Cheesecake
