Job vacancies: Could you play a key role in supporting local families?

Post by Wirral Council News » Thu Nov 19, 2020 10:29 pm

Due to a successful funding bid, Wirral Council's Children’s Services team is looking for three Domestic Abuse Practice Professionals to support local families as part of a new year-long programme.

The council is aspiring for a future where as few people as possible are affected by domestic abuse, but those who are can get help to end the abuse and go on to live the lives they want. To do this, it needs to help build a first-class social care service which supports the needs of young people and families who are affected.

Wirral's Children's Services team is looking for candidates who want to help shape and transform services, supporting them to be flexible and adapt to the needs of residents. Three Domestic Abuse Practice Professionals will provide robust, specialist and holistic support across the social care sector, improving the experiences of families to ensure they feel believed, supported and empowered.

They need people who can share their understanding to help influence and mentor practitioners, so that they feel qualified, skilled and confident to support young people and families in the most appropriate way.

For further information please visit the council's careers website, or contact Elizabeth Hartley, Assistant Director – Early Help and Prevention, or Hannah Myers, Performance and Improvement Manager.

About the new domestic abuse programme

The 'We can talk about domestic abuse' programme seeks to improve the experiences of social care services for children, young people and families affected by domestic abuse, making it easier to access support and ensure help is there when they need it.

The scheme will sit alongside Wirral's recently approved Domestic Abuse Strategy.
