Storm Dennis will bring very heavy rain and strong winds to the UK this weekend, with a risk of flooding and travel disruption in some areas.

The Met Office has issued multiple National Severe Weather Warnings for wind and rain from Saturday through to Monday, including several amber rain warnings for parts of England and Wales.

For Wirral, a yellow wind warning is in place from 10am on Saturday 15 February until 11.59pm on Sunday 16 February.

What the Met Office says to expect with a yellow wind warning

Some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely
Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges likely
Some short term loss of power and other services is possible
It’s likely that some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities are affected by spray and/or large waves
Flooding alerts

Earlier this week, high tides and weather conditions caused sea defences to 'overtop' in Wirral. You can stay up to date with flood warnings and alerts from the government's flood information service, where you can also sign up for free flood alerts.
