Re: Wasteland abutting passageway serving Rodney Street & Vincent Norton Court (VNC) CH41.

This piece of land with trees belongs to the adjoining 'Beers Timber Supplies Company'. It overshadows the passageway that serves the residents of Rodney St and Vincent Norton Court, Sheltered Accommodation for the elderly.

It is sited at the junction of Argyle St South, fronting Borough Rd at its junction, and at the rear of the Beer's yard.

In the summer the trees are in leaf and it is claimed by residents of VNC that it provides daytime cover for clandestine activity, namely drug-dealing and use, (evidence of which is clearly visible now that the saplings are bare). I also noted discarded needles/syringess not only in this space but also in the adjoining garden space fronting VNC, which is no doubt the hapless action of the 'users in situ'. This activity is noted daily by the residents and remains a disincentive to use this passageway to access the shops or, return home safely on that route.

It is hoped that some action can be sought safely in liaison with the Local Authority, and Beer's to get this site cleaned up plus the removal of the surplus branches of the saplings that helps provide leafy-cover for illicit activity to occur unchecked during the spring, summer, and autumn time too.
