Ovo Energy Tour Series: Catch cycling stars in Birkenhead on 21 May

Are you ready for some sizzling cycling action on Tuesday 21 May? We're counting down to the arrival of the Ovo Energy Tour Series which will bring the best of British cycling to Birkenhead - and here's how you can catch all the action.

The team-based OVO Energy Tour Series brings together the best in British professional male and female riders, including teams led by gold medal winners Ed Clancy and Dame Sarah Storey.

The stage is set for an exciting day's racing on Tuesday 21 May, as round five of the Tour sees riders race a circuit centred on Birkenhead's Hamilton Square. 



During the day, Hamilton Square will play host to cycling-themed activities and events for everyone to enjoy, before watching elite cycling with the professional women's and men's races. Highlights of both races will be shown on ITV4 on Thursday 23 May.

The Birkenhead Tour Series is centred around historic Hamilton Square, close to Birkenhead town centre. Due to high levels of traffic expected for the Tour Series, race fans are encouraged to use public transport wherever possible.

RAIL: Hamilton Square station is a 2 minute walk away, with regular Merseyrail services to Hamilton Square from Liverpool, Chester and across Wirral. Plan your journey on the Merseyrail website or download the free Merseyrail app.

BUS: Regular services run to Hamilton Square, operated by Arriva and Stagecoach. Please check with transport providers about alterations to these services due to road closures on event day.

ROAD: Birkenhead is well connected by road, and easily accessible from the M53 motorway.

CAR PARKING: There are a number of parking facilities available within Birkenhead town centre which include accessible parking. All facilities are in close proximity to the Tour Series event circuit. Race fans are advised to arrive early and follow town centre parking signage. Access to and from car parks close to the circuit will be affected whilst road closures are in operation. Please check with individual car parks on arrival regarding the operational times of their car park on the day.

Temporary road closures will be in place around the circuit throughout the day, along with some parking restrictions.
