FREE 'Friday Night Football' kicks off

Postby Wirral Council News » Thu Sep 06, 2018 1:47 pm

The Oval Leisure Centre, Bebington is inviting boys and girls aged 12 - 19 years to take part in weekly football sessions every Friday night – starting on September 14 from 6.30pm - 8.30pm.

‘Friday Night Football’, funded by the Mid Wirral Crime Prevention Panel, provides young people across Wirral the opportunity to turn up with their friends and play small sided games & tournaments on 3G pitches - for free.

There’s no need to book. Players wanting to get involved can just turn up – on their own or with friends.

Wirral Council’s Sports Development Team helps young people access physical, healthy activities and will be leading the sessions supported by FA qualified coaches.

Cllr Phillip Brightmore, Wirral’s Cabinet Member for Leisure and Recreation said: ‘Maintaining free activities such as these regular, football sessions is a priority for the council. They will enable Wirral’s young people to increase their involvement in healthy and safe activities and improve the long-term wellbeing of future generations.’
