Get Involved with Wirral Change's Red Heart Campaign

Postby Wirral Council News » Thu Sep 06, 2018 10:58 am

Would you like to be part of a new campaign to help wipe out hatred, xenophobia and discrimination in our communities?

Wirral Change is supporting the RED Heart campaign, a positive new movement to promote respect equality and diversity in our communities.

They say: ‘Wouldn’t it be nice if we all pledged to simply treat others how we would like to be treated ourselves? To appreciate and celebrate diversity and our cultural differences? We would love you to join the hundreds of people across Wirral who have already made a red heart pledge.

‘It’s really easy to get involved, all you need to do it make a pledge, and then encourage others to do the same. You can make a pledge at wirralchange.org.uk’

Wirral Change is a black and racial minorities outreach service offering information, advice and guidance.

Councillor Paul Stuart, Cabinet Member for Law & Order said:

‘The RED Heart Campaign is all about respect and equality. I’m really proud that we have been able to support it and to see the difference that it has made in local communities with lots of people from different backgrounds making a pledge’.

If you or someone you know has experienced a hate crime, report what has happened as soon as possible, to either the police or call Stop Hate UK on their 24-hour helpline on 0800 138 1625.
