Nominations open for Wirral Sports Awards 2018

The Wirral Sports Forum is seeking nominations for the 2018 Wirral Sports Awards.

The Wirral Sports Awards, hosted by the Wirral Sports Forum, are given annually in recognition of the achievements of Wirral's dedicated sports people and are open to anybody who lives in Wirral. This year the awards will be presented on Thursday 11th October at Hulme Hall, Port Sunlight.

There are ten award categories that include:-

Club of the Year
Coach of the Year
Volunteer of the Year
Young Volunteer of the Year
Young Sports Person of the Year
Special Recognition for Contribution to Sport and Lifetime Achievement Award.
There are also three new categories this year for Secondary Schools:-

School Sports Team of the Year (Girls)
School Sports Team of the Year (Boys)
Schools Sports Department of the Year
Closing date for this years entries is Friday 14th July.

The Wirral Sports Forum provides a voice for local sports clubs, associations and leagues on Wirral.

Supported by Wirral Council, the Forum helps assess the sporting needs of the area and provides help and advice on a range of subjects including Clubmark accreditation, sports promotion, grants and bursaries.

Chair of the Forum Ronan Kearney commented: "The Sports Awards are the most prestigious multi-sports awards on Wirral. I would encourage Club and Association representatives to join the Forum. Regular meetings for members are held across Wirral during the year."
