Update on missed bin collections

Postby Wirral Council News » Fri Jun 08, 2018 4:59 pm

Wirral Council’s regular bin collection service provided by Biffa has been affected by unforeseen operational issues on Friday 8 June 2018.

Properties in the Wallasey and Upton areas of Wirral are affected

You may find that your bin is not collected as scheduled on Friday however Biffa will be working later than usual and over the weekend to recover any missed collections.

If your bin is not collected, the Council would advise that your bin is left presented at the kerbside at its usual collection point.

Further updates will be provided at www.wirral.gov.uk and on Social Media feeds. Alternatively you can contact Streetscene on 0151 606 2004.

Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience this may cause however please be assured that the Council and Biffa are working to minimise disruption and restore normal collection services.

Cabinet member for the Environment Cllr Matthew Patrick said: “Biffa have made the Council aware that there have been some operational issues on Friday and will be working at the weekend to catch up on the missed collections.

“This unacceptable situation could have been avoided had the Council been given sufficient notice and I will be meeting with the company urgently to find out exactly how this situation was allowed to arise and ensure there is no repeat of it.”
